Trip to Frankie & Benny's

So The Sweetpeas had a visit by their dad and they ended up at Frankie & Benny's.

This was their 2nd trip out with him after not seeing him for over a year. I'm not sure if Harvey really knew who this man was that was taking him out for dough balls but he seemed to have fun as all he talked about was how yummy the food was when he was there.

I was particularly impressed to see they both had desserts. There is ALWAYS room for dessert.

I apologise now for the group of 3 people in that particular restaurant taking these kind of photographs. It's taken me years to try and get one decent photograph of them together and this obviously isn't the best look.

Sofa Snuggles

I've not felt at all well over the last few days so, on my days off from work, I've spent less time online and more time just curled up on the sofa.

Sofa snuggles with Petal are possibly one of the best remedies.

Cardboard box fun

Harvey is a little obsessed with KFC it has to be said. I didn't realise how much until he insisted he used an old cardboard box to make himself a drive-thru window.

They played in it for ages and it still currently features in my living room as they aren't finished with it yet apparently. I do love how just a simple cardboard box can create so much fun.

It must be good there as the parking bays are absolutely packed already.

Footprint shoes shelves

I was really fed up of always falling over their shoes in the hallway or not being able to find a pair of school shoes in the last frantic minutes before leaving the house. They just can't go to school wearing wellies despite Harvey insisting that it will be fine as his "wellies are green and my uniform is green."

I saw these awesome little footprint shelves on Amazon by j-me. They aren't cheap at £10 each but I think they are utterly adorable. They were really easy to fix to the wall as they came with the appropriate fixings. I drilled a couple of holes and then screwed them in to place.

I also bought a wall sticker for £4.02 which I thought finished off the corner of a very small hallway. You can't go wrong with a Dr Seuss quote.

No more wasted time when we need to leave the house as their shoes are ready and waiting for them. There is more room above the sticker too so I can put some more shelves up when I've saved some more Amazon gift vouchers.

Lion sleeping

This photo pretty much sums up Chunky. He has a love of sleeping and a love of all things JCB.

We'll have a lie-in in the morning shall we Harvey?

"Where do we get a lion from? Where will it sleep for a start?"
