They had a very hectic weekend as they put up the Christmas tree. It's the right way up this year. The Sweetpeas decorated it themselves and I was only allowed to watch . I think they did a great job and worked together to reach even the highest parts.
Alyssa set about starting the Christmas card writing as they were advent ones so needed to be out for the start of December.
The end of November came and went but they were eager to see if their elf would come to life. If he did then he would be reporting back to Father Christmas and telling him whether they have been good or bad. This is part of Elf On The Shelf (#elfontheshelf).
It looks like their elf is quite naughty as he wrapped their beautifully decorated tree up with toilet paper whilst they slept.
Lots of their friends at school also have elves at their homes and they love telling each other what has been going on. I think it is such a fun tradition and I can't wait to see what he gets up to tonight.
Oh, and one last thing. I got home from work to a drawing by Harvey.
No matter what kind of day I have had, it's pictures like these that make me laugh. Love them. (I shall now go and sit on the naughty step for 29 minutes for laughing out loud. Tomorrow I will have to sit there for a full half an hour!)
This is possibly the perfect time to recount the story of a walk to school last week.
Alyssa ~ "Let's play words that rhyme."
Harvey ~ "Like jump and splash."
Alyssa ~ "No, like things that rhyme with candlestick. Like stick and lick and pick."
Harvey ~ "and dick."
Me ~ "erm, let's do counting!Lots of counting.....1, 2,3"
