We went to see a pantomime on New Year's Eve.

Oh no you didn't.

Oh yes we did.

Aladdin was on at Cambridge Arts Theatre. We booked our tickets at £20 for an adult and £17.50 per child.

A little selfie I found on my phone from Alyssa. She was obviously very excited about it.

To make the occasion even more memorable, The Sweetpeas got to experience the guided bus as a way of getting into Cambridge. They absolutely loved it.

Once we got in and found our seats, the show began. The cast were upbeat, lively and extremely good at getting the audience involved.

The star of the show for me was Matt Crosby who played Widow Twankey. He was utterly hilarious and his interactions with the rest of the cast had me in stitches. I absolutely loved the scene with Widow Twankey and Wishee Washee when they were showing everyone how the washing process worked. They must be battered and bruised yet they still give 100%.

I will not hesitate in taking them again next year as it was so much fun. I had a blast let alone the children. I love how pantomimes are written for all ages and there was certainly enough in this one to keep everyone entertained for the entire time.

I would say it was a talking point all the way home but they were so worn out that they slept the most of the journey home. Alyssa said it was "fantastic" and Harvey said it was "epic".

It must have been on their minds as, when Alyssa was falling asleep, she was mumbling to herself abbabanana instead of Abanazer.

My advice for anyone reading this is to snap up a ticket before it finishes for this year. Huge thanks to the cast and crew of the theatre for putting on such a brilliant production. We shall certainly see you next year.

Everything was awesome. (Yes, that song is now firmly back in my head.)
