Today I got to mark something off my own "bucket list". I got to sit in an Eddie Stobart lorry, yes an ACTUAL Eddie Stobart lorry. This may not seem much to many people but for years I've always noticed them along the roads and been eager to find out the name of them. This one was Clementine. Her driver today was an absolutely lovely man who happily answered my random questions. He was so enthusiastic about the company and obviously could see how much it meant to me.
I had to go and collect Harvey from school and it was fortunate that the lorry was still there when we returned as he got to have his picture taken with "Clementine" too.
I love how there is a club that we can join and it would be a great thing for us to do together when we are on the roads as a family.
No longer will I feel the need to try and squeeze myself into the lorry at the seaside.
Yay for getting to sit in it, that must have been fun. As a child we always waved to Eddie Storbart lorries. No idea why, my Dad use to just make us! lol
ReplyDeleteLol your dad sounds awesome!
DeleteWhat a treat for you! I know so many people who are 'Eddie' spotters.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! But how did you get to sit in the lorry - did you just spot it and go to ask the driver?
ReplyDeleteHe happened to be sent to collect some things that had been sold. I visited family at the right time and he offered me to have a seat. I jumped at the chance!:)
Deletewow how exciting, you must have been on cloud nine.

ReplyDeletelol i think i prefer the roomier version too :-) .. i am rather jealous i would love a go!
ReplyDeleteI saw a Television program about the life of Eddie Stobart lorry drivers and I couldn't believe how enthusiastic they were all about the company. It's good to know that the driver you met was also just as enthusiastic. Not sure if I would have been able to climb into the high lorry cabin though!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit of a mission I must admit!
DeleteNow that is pretty cool - I used to love spotting Eddy Trucks I am glad they kept the name.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Harvey looks thrilled, I'm so pleased it waited for him!
